Empleos Legal Director

Our Client, a global leader in the service sector, is hiring a Legal Director with over 10 years of experience in commercial and construction contracts to oversee the Legal Contract Division for the Procurement and Contracts Division. This position will play a key role in developing and managing the contract function, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and driving operational efficiency within the organization, with a particular focus on construction-related agreements.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert guidance on the preparation, negotiation, and execution of construction contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Supervise contract-related activities, ensuring optimal performance within the Procurement & Contracts division, especially for large-scale construction projects.
• Develop and implement strategic contract initiatives that align with organizational goals, overseeing all phases of contract execution and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Lead negotiations for complex contracts and agreements.
• Assign, supervise, and evaluate the process of drafting, reviewing, and formalizing all project-related contracts.

• Juris Doctor & valid license from the PR Supreme Court to practice law.
• 10+ years of experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation, with a strong focus on construction contracts.
• In-depth knowledge of Puerto Rico contract law, government contracting regulations (local and federal), and industry best practices in the construction sector.
• Previous experience supervising a legal team.
• Proven track record of drafting and negotiating large construction project contracts.
• Experience in contract negotiations with multiple service vendors and construction partners.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
